Pregnancy Issues

Most Kawasaki patients may undergo pregnancy without additional risk. However, patients with large or multiple coronary aneurysms or obstruction of the coronary arteries should receive reproductive counseling and regular monitoring because pregnancy is high risk.

Anyone with congenital heart disease, repaired or non-repaired, should consult with their cardiologist prior to becoming pregnant to review the risks.
